Hey,
I tell stories, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
I write mysteries and romantic suspense featuring strong women. My crime fighters are fierce and fearless and dedicated to seeing that justice is done for all. Like me, they like happy endings.
Like many writers, I wrote stories as a kid. Never considered I could pursue it as a career so in college I majored in an area that kept me writing and that I figured would support my love of shoes -- journalism.
Ha, what a surprise. The journalism field was saturated when I graduated resulting is my joining the corporate communications world. Turned out I could buy a lot of shoes working for a Fortune 500 company. Plus I got to travel to many wonderful countries.
Shopping in Paris was a delight.
My stories, however, were always begging to be told. Writing weekends I managed to finish a novel. Almost sold it. But corporate life gobbles up every ounce of energy and every second of time one might have to pursue anything else. My writing took a back seat.
Finally, after toiling in corporate, owning a sandwich shop and teaching college English, I had to seriously ask myself the question about my writing: If not now, when?
Well, when is now.
My fiery Bad Girls have been featured in short stories. It's full speed ahead to bring these jazzy crime fighters to more mystery lovers.
Many of my stories are set in the historic neighborhoods of Chicago where I grew up. Indianapolis, where I currently live, also serves as backdrop for my crime fighters.
I'm having a blast.
